Looking Back
The festival was established in the Mid Wales seaside town of Aberystwyth in 1989. In 1998 it moved to the capital city and became the Cardiff Screen Festival. Following a period of development in the city it has now become a growing event in the city’s calendar, with audience figures increasing at a rate of 35% a year and an award-winning marketing campaign.
The festival is now known as the Cardiff Film Festival.
